EMERGENCY eLEARNING PLAN K-12

Our temporary shift to an emergency eLearning environment has significantly impacted us all, and our priority is to maintain valued human connections and collaborate meaningfully with our students and families. We acknowledge that these are difficult times for our families and staff as many are facing personal and professional challenges and changes in their homes. This is not easy, and we want families to know that we will work together to be flexible and support our students to be as successful as possible.

Thank you for your patience as we worked to create a plan for instruction, assessment and reporting that is manageable within the limitations of our new reality; providing direction for our teachers and to support the progression of student learning. We are proud to share important information from our MHPSD Instruction, Assessment and Reporting Plan as it relates to K-12 Emergency eLearning. We are confident that our plan aligns with Alberta Education guidelines – Student learning during COVID-19.

We ask that you review this document and connect with your child’s teacher or school administrator to clarify any areas where you have questions. You will notice three different links to unique reporting processes and key dates based on grade levels; click on the appropriate link(s) and review the information as it applies to your child.

Emergency eLearning has put pressure on families and we are grateful to the support that you are able to give

Together, the Board of Trustees and Medicine Hat Public School Division staff want to thank families for supporting unique learning circumstances as we continue to educate students during this pandemic. We are truly inspired by your efforts and value the relationship we share as partners in education.

ALBERTA EDUCATION

We are in unprecedented circumstances as we transform our practice to adapt to a new way of delivering the curriculum to our students. Teachers are hard at work providing online instruction to students within the Education Continuity Plan as set out by the Minister of Education.

While we continue to work with Alberta Education to deliver education, the health of our students, our staff and our community is our priority. We miss our students, but we know that we can still make important connections as we take this learning path together.
